A favor for ALL women and... another favor

Hi there - The first favor I’m asking of you today is especially urgent: sign this petition from the League of Women Voters to secure equal rights for all women and girls in the U.S. before President Joe Biden leaves office.

You see, it turns out that the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) can become the 28th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution immediately if President Biden makes one single phone call to have the paperwork filed.

That’s right, the only thing standing between 170 million U.S. women and girls and equal rights under the law is…paperwork! And wow, if that doesn’t seem like the most horrible kind of equivalency to the paperwork shenanigans we’ve all seen at work.

(Another time, I’ll tell you about the year of my work life when I spent almost every Friday working from a folding chair next to the desk of a CFO who was in a feud with a colleague over funding, simply to make sure she’d sign checks for artists with whom we had contracts. So yeah, this is the same sort of paperwork problem as that, except the stakes with the ERA are waaaay bigger. Also, yes, I really am that persistent.)

I wrote an article here with responses to the most common objections I hear about finally getting the ERA certified. Like, “I’m not a woman, so why should I care?” which is number 8 on my list because truly, this objection comes up a lot and I’m not going to pretend otherwise.

That’s favor one: lending your support to getting the ERA recorded as the 28th Amendment, for the sake of ALL women and girls.

Which leads to favor two: please keep me in mind and recommend me to your friends and colleagues as a business coach.

I need your help because I’m using all my social capital these days to push for the ERA to be recorded as the 28th Amendment before President Biden leaves office, rather than using my voice to advocate for my own business. This is my choice, because I believe in protecting women and girls - everywhere in the world - so much that I am willing to risk everything else.

Your recommendations are always the lifeblood of my business, and even more so for the next 10 days, so that I can keep fighting for the ERA with almost every breath I take.
