I'm getting loud about rejecting white nationalism

I invite you to denounce white nationalism alongside me

October 6, 2025

If you don’t want to hear encouragement from me to speak out against the toxicity and dangers of white nationalism, please unsubscribe from this newsletter. But before you do, know that I talk about this for the people who are struggling to find their voice about the violence of white nationalism, including people who are totally new to this.

I am an experienced business coach who specializes in social justice. So, while I will continue to use this newsletter primarily for purposes closely related to my business, I most certainly will not be silent about how white nationalism is set up to deny the humanity of and crush anybody who refuses its frameworks. None of us can be free to make an honest livelihood while this massive system forcing us to serve white nationalism is still in place.

I do this crucial work of speaking out against white nationalism for no personal gain, nor do I charge a fee for it. In fact, earlier this year, I started gathering a group of white women to talk about rejecting white feminism (which is a version of white nationalism). One of the white women I invited to join me responded by launching a vicious and highly effective smear/cancel campaign against me on LinkedIn. I’m not looking for any sympathy about this. My network on LinkedIn is a lot smaller now, but it’s also a lot more honest, justice-focused and far less poisonous. She went to great lengths to silence me, but it didn’t work. Nobody else will be able to silence me either.

Corrie ten Boom was a Dutch Christian watchmaker who helped Jewish people escape the Holocaust during World War II. If you’ve heard her name before, you’ve likely been led to believe that she was just one among the great masses of people who risked their lives working against Nazis. But you’d be wrong. The narrative we were fed is a lie.

In fact, there were very few people who dared to say anything, much less help, people being persecuted by Nazis.

On a regular basis, I re-read this article, “The good White Christian women of Nazi Germany: Despite what you’ve read, most of them didn’t resist,” (D.L. Mayfield, April 7, 2021, The Christian Century), to remind myself of just how few resisters there actually were in the 1930s and 1940s.

I refuse to be simply one of the few who speaks out against white nationalism now. I want my name to be completely lost to history because there will be so many of us raising our voices against white nationalism.

I am a follower of Christ, but I can’t bear to call myself a Christian anymore because of how closely aligned mainstream Christianity has become with the brutality of white nationalism. I am also an anti-zionist and I speak out loudly against genocide in Palestine and elsewhere; zionism is yet another manifestation of white nationalism.

I created a resource list, here.

I hope I am wrong about the rhetorical and physical violence I foresee on October 14th, the day that the US Congress has designated to be a day of remembrance for Charlie Kirk. Given what I’m seeing in the conservative part of Ohio I live in, I think October 14th is going to be a day filled with demonstrations of white nationalist power. The white nationalist hard right has a massive worldwide network that can and does mobilize in mere hours, and it would be irresponsible to ignore their flammability as October 14th approaches.

If you want to engage with me about white nationalism, whether you are struggling or just want a supportive community to talk with, please join my Patreon group here. It’s free, but I keep most of my posts there behind the membership wall so that I don’t have to expend precious resources managing trolls and saboteurs. You can also follow my blog, “Poison Spoon,” where I write exclusively about my road to living an anti-racist life, here.

I expect my business to take a hit as I continue to speak out against white nationalism. So please keep recommending me to friends and colleagues who might need a business coach or strategic planner (my specialty as a planner is small shops) or of course folks who might be interested in my Spark Your Idea workshop. My equity pricing structure means I can help most folks regardless of their capacity to pay and I have extensive experience, especially in the area of social justice. Some of my clients run high-revenue businesses, while others run non-profits or part-time or one-person businesses.

I try to be transparent about my identity as a white, cis-het, middle-class, non-disabled woman in the U.S., because I think it’s important for my potential clients to know. I often get to work with people who have identities that differ from mine, and together, we are building a more just and equitable world where our lives and work are much better because of it.

Let’s be loud together in our condemnation of white nationalism,
