What do mission creep and boundary violations have in common?

Working on these skills is never a waste

August 3, 2024

If you haven’t heard me talk about the importance of working on skills related to setting boundaries, welcome to a topic I’m going to return to over and over. And over. And then I’ll talk about it some more. Because yes, it’s that important.

So, I wrote a post on my Patreon called “What mission creep and boundary violations have in common.” You can read it here.

Image description: On a light teal backgound, the text reads, “What mission creep and boundary violations have in common.”

Why am I making you go over to my Patreon page* when I could have just put the darn post right here in this email for you to read, you might be asking me? Well, I’m trying to simplify where I post my thoughts so that I can have more time to focus.

That’s a boundary decision that I’ve made about my own time and energy. For my own well-being. That’s how I can do the most good in the world.

Please share this email with a friend, family member or colleague who’s struggling with mission creep, scope creep or boundary violations. When more of us learn how to handle these situations, we make the world a better place for everybody.

Here’s hoping you have a boundaried weekend,

Kay Coughlin, CEO and Business Coach, Facilitator on Fire

*I’m making most of my content on Patreon available to members only - but that includes free members, too. This is another boundary decision that I’ve made because sometimes I talk about things that are personal, or topics that make people very angry - like how I’m working to fight racism. I’m trying to create a space that’s safe enough for you and me to be in a community together and also talk about very hard things. We can be courageous together but there’s no reason to make ourselves into targets for abuse, as so often happens on social media. So yes, you’ll need to join my community on Patreon to see most of what I’ll be saying there. Thanks for understanding. I look forward to seeing you there.
