Two July opportunities I think you'll want to know about - time sensitive

Hi there - I wanted to quickly let you know about two opportunities coming up this month. These are both time-sensitive.

One: Heather Luna, my colleague over at the Liberatory Livelihood Association (here), is hosting a webinar on July 16 called, “An Honest Job.” This is for anyone who feels tension between doing paid work and passions you pursue outside of your employment. Register here. I really can’t recommend this highly enough - if you haven’t met Heather yet, you really need to.

Two: Over in my Patreon group, I’m hosting a Big Read of a paper called, “The TESCREAL bundle: Eugenics and the promise of utopia through artificial general intelligence,” by Timnit Gebru and Émile P. Torres (the header of this email message is a screenshot of the title of the paper). But one of the problems I’m running into is that the paper covers so many important topics, I’m not sure what’s of most interest to and need in the community.

So I’d like your input! If you’re interested in being part of the discussion to tell me what you’d like to learn and talk about, will you please participate in my calendar poll (here) by next Wednesday, July 16? You don’t have to be a member of my Patreon group (here) to join us for this discussion, but that is where I will be hosting the bulk of the conversation for this Big Read. (Reminder: my membership wall on Patreon is NOT a paywall, and my intention is to provide the community for free, but I always welcome paid members because your funding helps me continue to do all of my work on an equity pricing model.)
