Erasing Indigenous People on Indigenous People's Day? Not on our watch

Buy the book, fight back!

October 14, 2024

Hi there - last week, the Montgomery County library system in Texas decided to re-classify a history book about the Wampanoag people, “Colonization and the Wampanoag People,” by Linda Coombs, to their FICTION section. Despite the Library of Congress classifying it as non-fiction. Because it’s a history book.

I’m furious and I wrote about it on my “Poison Spoon” blog. This is the place where I post my thoughts about racism. I don’t pull any punches on my blog and I don’t worry one bit there about being professional (whatever that means anyway). Please read it and share.
